Strong Water

Strong Water

Strong Water opened for The Last Bison, at Clementine in downtown Harrisonburg. A fantastic Americana performance. They played a combination of both fast and slow songs at Clementine. Strong Water used an electric bass, drums, a banjo, the violin, and an acoustic guitar. Apparently there was a cello I missed, too. Lead singer/guitarist Greg Brennan's unique voice contrasts nicely with fiddle player JJ's voice (and whoever else is singing too, it's wild how it all works). The band's lyrics and voices fit their instruments and  the fast and slow styles. It sounded pretty darn cool. They have a website too, if you want to learn even more right here. I did an interview with Greg, here.

My favorite song by them is Reaper, a more fast-paced song. It's all about (from what I hear) not fearing 'death's sweet sting'. That's a quote from the song.

Also, sorry about the picture up top. I couldn't get a good shot on that one, the lights changed too much.
