Upheaval Dome

Upheaval Dome

Forrest's Thoughts:

Meteor impact site? Erosion? What it is, nobody really knows for sure. The most accepted theory is that it was a meteor impact site, but has become eroded.

It’s a strange place, Upheaval Dome. You don’t even realize it’s a crater until you slowly peek over that edge. Down, down the cliff goes.

An easy hike to see something so strange. You'd expect it to have a ten mile hike to just see it, but no, it's a meager mile to the first viewpoint. Well worth the trip to Canyonlands National Park.
