Deep Blue (Mesa Arch)

Deep Blue (Mesa Arch)

Forrest’s Thoughts:

If you’ve ever heard the song ‘Deep Blue’, by Arcade Fire, you know that the song is mostly about people being just too attached to technology. One of the opening lines is “here in my own skin, I can finally begin.” It’s talking about how one can enjoy the moment without using technology. We decided to do that for ourselves. So, experienced this hike sans cameras, and I drew a picture instead. And yeah, this is online and I did take a picture of my drawing, so I’m being a little hypocritical.

Mesa Arch is 0.7 miles, flat, and beautiful. Since it is flat it is easy (duh), and worth the short walk to go see it (why wouldn’t it be?). Once you reach the top you find an arch and a wonderful view behind the arch. The blue sky peers out from behind, and below you cliffs seem to just roll away into mesas and a canyon. (Cuz it’s in Canyonlands National Park)
