Pope Francis Visits Estes Park

Pope Francis Visits Estes Park

Forrest's Thoughts:

Estes Park, Colorado, is one of the most amazing towns ever created. From fantastic candy shops to Sgt. Pepper's music shop, the town is teeming with interesting places to explore.

First notable place we went: Kind Coffee. The place has great coffee choices and great gum choices. Such as Pope Francis Cinnamon Gum.

Sgt. Pepper's was cool, but we didn't get anything. The place is how a music shop should be- mostly unorganized, and crammed with random artist's CD's. It was pretty cool.

Next was Rocket Fizz! The place has stinkin' EVERYTHING sweet. They have candy, lots of it, but they also have sodas you won't see anywhere else. These include 'Cream My People (Liberating Taste!), 'Dad-Gum-It!', and 'Kitty Piddle (It's SODAsgusting)'. I got 'Cream My People'. Best cream soda I've ever tasted.

Ed's Cantina was also great. They had delicious chips, salsa, guac and even better burritos. The burrito I got was called the 14er and had chorizo, pinto beans, bacon, ground beef, rice, and more. Sadly, not 14 inches long. Still good!

My favorite place was Estes Park Mountain Shop. The gear they had was endless. Hats, climbing, fishing, hiking, and whatever you could dream up. Even better, they had ridiculously cheap prices for their climbing gym. Elizabeth, a nice employee, gave us lessons and much wanted helpful advice. Thanks Elizabeth!

Another great taffy place, The Taffy Shop, makes the taffy the ol' fashioned way. They used a taffy spinning machine and cut it themselves. They only have a few flavors at a time, but they're good flavors! My favorite is molasses.

And yay A-OK KOA! The people who owned it were super nice. That's all I'm going to say about that small subject.

It was a fun town!
