Glacial Lake Fun

Glacial Lake Fun

It's certainly been a while since our last post, but whatever. So without further ado, we present 'Glacial Lake Fun'

Forrest's Thoughts:

Bear Lake to Bierstadt Lake to Cub Lake to Moraine Park. There ya go. It was (like most hikes we've done lately) pretty easy. The reason behind this claim is rather obvious if you've done it. The entire hike is mostly downhill. Yeah. Pretty easy.

We were originally gonna do a real touristy three or four mile hike, but after asking a park ranger we went on a much longer and equally pretty hike. My brother got altitude sick. Poor guy. Did I mention this was in Rocky Mountain National Park? That's a rhetorical question by the way, I know I didn't. Back on topic. After he had some water he began to feel a little better.

The first lake we got to was Bear Lake. Stunning. Despite the many people, the lake was vast, filled with fish and other creatures. Including nasty, horrible, squirmy leaches.

Lake numero dos was Bierstadt Lake. No wonder the name.

Eh. Bad photo of Bierstadt Lake.

You get the idea.

The third glacial lake was Cub Lake. The section of the hike on the way down was just insanely beautiful. The recently burned area was covered in lush green and other vibrant colors.

Amazing.

The lake itself was a shimmering beauty covered in hundreds of blooming waterlilies.

Lastly was the hike home. We wandered through open fields and over streams, eventually ending at our RV. Or close to it. We actually took a shuttle bus back. Whatever.
